Porcelain Veneers

Closeup of flawless smileVeneers are thin sheaths of dental grade porcelain used to conceal cosmetic flaws. Fused to the front facing surfaces of teeth, a custom porcelain veneer, when properly crafted, is able to transform flawed teeth into beautiful smiles that look natural. We may recommend veneers for patients who want to conceal a number of chips, cracks, gaps, and stains on the surfaces of their teeth. The process is completed over the course of two appointments in our office. During the initial visit, we remove a small amount of surface level enamel to accommodate the thickness of the veneer. Then, we capture impressions that will be used by our lab to craft a custom porcelain veneer and place a temporary to protect the prepared teeth. When we receive the final veneer, patients return to our office to exchange their temporary for a custom porcelain veneer and a flawless smile.

Metal-Free Restorations

For patients who need to repair front facing teeth and those who want to improve the appearance of cosmetically flawed teeth, metal-free restoration materials give us the ability to improve the form, function, and appearance of patients’ smiles. In addition to allowing our team to provide natural looking restorations, metal-free restorative materials are also the best repair option for patients who have metal allergies or sensitivities. We can provide all-ceramic crowns for those patients most concerned with achieving natural looking results.

Cosmetic Dental Bonding

Direct bonding is a one visit restoration procedure that offers patients a conservative and cost effective solution. We use the same natural looking material used in tooth-colored filling restorations. This putty-like composite resin is shaded to match your smile’s natural colors. Then, we apply the composite directly to your tooth. We can shape the tooth-colored resin to fill in chips or cracks in teeth, close too-large gaps between teeth, and conceal stains or other flaws. Once in position, we use a curing light to harden the composite into position. Finally, we polish and seal the filling. The entire process is comfortable and quick.

Professional Teeth Whitening

Woman examining her white smile in mirrorMany of the patients we see for cosmetic dentistry consultations have already tried store bought whitening products. At your local pharmacy or other oral hygiene retailer, you can find numerous whitening toothpastes, mouthwashes, gels, strips, and even lights. While these products promise dramatically brighter smiles, they cannot typically deliver on their promises. At our Reading, MA practice, we offer at-home professional teeth whitening options that can deliver smiles up to ten shades brighter in many cases. At-home teeth whitening delivers the same results in about two weeks of application using custom application trays and professional grade whitening gel. These take-home teeth whitening options are customized to meet the needs of individual patients.
